Timpr python update

The past two months have been quite a learning process. I've learnt a lot about how my snake (named Fractal) likes to be looked after, mostly by getting it wrong the first time round. I suppose that's the way it happens for most beginners.

Anyway, today I got the all clear from my vet (who is also an avid reptile keeper), Fractal is now parasite free and in excellent health. The vet was also pleased to hear how well he's eating. In the two months I've had him, he's put on over 100g on once weekly feedings of medium/large mice, and hasn't refused a meal once. He also shed this week, one complete piece from nose to tail.

He would be going into his new enclosure today, but when it was delivered last week I found a fairly significant mistake in the heating/lighting layout, so I had to return it to have the fixtures altered. It should be ready this weekend (the guy who built it has had to pick up the fairly hefty shipping fees, I imagine he won't make the same mistake again!).

One other minor setback, the female I was eyeing up to buy next year has been sold, but there is still one other of a similar size that looks nice. Fingers crossed she'll still be around next spring!

Timor pythons have a reputation for being nervous snakes, not recommended for beginners. From my limited experience, they are nervous, but soon warm up to being handled and are quite resilient when things don't go quite to plan. I'm looking forward to everything getting easier from this point onward, for both Fractal and myself.

Re: Timpr python update

Thanks. It took me a long time to settle on which snake to buy, but I think I made the right decision.
