Heating

Got a a.h.s 5oo ceramic heater that heats my 5ft viv nicely..no facility to turn down for a night-time temp drop ..was thinking of putting the whole unit on a timer so it switched off for a while and then turned on again ..not sure if that's the best way to go though..any advice ?

Re: Heating

Yes that's usually how people go about it. Thermostats usually also have a night time drop feature.

Re: Heating

I have made a heat pad myself from nichrome wire, CD disk, glue and glass. I placed it in a hide box and buy Chinese thermostat . So my carpet python have hide box and it's warm one ) 1/2 of hide box have no heat pad and the snake is always on heat side.
