Another Visit at the home of Venomous Animals
Today I managed to visit the Home of Venomous Animals in Eimsheim, Germany (Gifttierhaus Eimsheim). I was there in 2013, the originals thread is here, sadly the pictures are no longer available because of the photobucket problem… --> http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/gener...s-animals.html
They are still open only once every month, so the timing to get there is a little problematical.
The basic philosophy is still the same, they have only venomous or poisonous animals on display, mainly snakes, but also dart frogs, spiders, scorpions and millipedes.
Here are some pictures I made today
Vipers
West African Gaboon viper (Bitis rhinoceros)
Asian Pit vipers
Gumprecht's green pitviper (Viridovipera gumprechti (formerly Trimeresurus gumprechti)
Sri Lankan pit viper (Trimeresurus trigonocephalus)
Mangrove pit viper (Cryptelytrops purpureomaculatus)
Mangshan pitviper (Zhaoermia mangshanensis)
...

Re: Another Visit at the home of Venomous Animals
Nice, I love venomous snakes... I used to go to SERPO in the Netherlands a lot (like all the time) when they were still in Delft... many venomous species. I could stay there often after closing during feeding because they had quizzes and if you won, you could watch the snake feeding (and I made sure I won a lot ). I was only 12-14 or so years old at that time Quite the experience for a young boy.
