new job, i hope
im applying at the superpet in my city, anyone have suggestions or must knows about working in a petshop? i think the only available section hiring is the fish department, so im gonna get cracking on the reading .. lots to learn

lol petsmart wouldnt hire me, but they hired my friend who knew **** all about animals. I think they wanted people that would tell the public what they want, not whats best for the animals lol.
Anyways that was just my bad luck, never been to superpet so maybe they are different, good luck!

Well, for one, don't bother reading up. They will hire you even if you know nothing, they have such a high staff turnover that they don't care anymore.
All you need to be is a good salesman, as you will be working on commission and selling and promoting Hagen products.
I'd check into applying at a mom-and-pop type shop if you really want to care for and learn about herps. There are many good ones around. Sadly, the big chain stores are all about $$$.

you got that right i worked for pets unlimited witch is owned buy super pet and there moto is if the department only brings in 1 % of sales it only gets 1 % of effort from the staf

Hey its a job working with animals cant be all that bad....but I would try to get on with a small pet store also, I could not work for a large chain just knowing that they buy wholesale imports....I have got the mom and pop store around here convinced nto only buying cb, now that they have advertised that they are bringing in more and more buisness!

I live in a major city so I hit alot, there are still about 20 that I have not visited within a 30 min drive...if I wanted to go further I am sure there is prolly alot more....but I have not got that big yet!
