Treating outdoor branches

I brought home some branches from my hike today for my new snake's enclosure and was wondering what the best way to treat them would be. Friends have suggested microwaving or baking, but the branches are too large. My mom suggested neem oil, but would that be irritant to the snake?

Only thing I know of is either baking or freezing; or, if you have plenty of time, put them some place dry for a LONG time so that any hosts would have fled the branch for greener (bloodier) pastures.

No need to do anything to them. I've use branches from outside for 35yrs and never had any problems.

I'd just leave it in a dry place for a week or so. An idea to really get rid of any passengers I just had would be to use a hair dryer set on hot and gradually go over it. The heat should cause passengers to either die or move off.
