Organised field herping

Hi everyone,

I'll be visiting the US in late August, exploring mainly Tennessee and Georgia, perhaps venturing into some of the surrounding states.

I keep snakes at home, but have little experience in field herping, not least because the UK, as I'm sure you know, only has three indigenous snakes, two of which are quite elusive.

I would, however, like to spend a day trying to spot some of America's iconic species in the wild, and I wondered if anyone knows of any organised herping activities in the eastern states that I could join, possibly with my (adult) son and daughter.

I'd be grateful for any advice.

Thanks.

Tim.
