This little piggy
..eats a large rat every 10-14 days. I think it's time to move her up to jumbos though.

Re: This little piggy
After that are you moving her up to small deer? That is one hefty snake.
Bet you wouldn't want to take a bite from that girl. She looks pretty mellow though.

Re: This little piggy
Thanks all. She's a beast at feeding time but a real sweetheart any other time.
@ Andy- You're right about the larges. I'll keep giving her large rats and offer a jumbo every 2-3 feedings. She'll be 4 in September but her metabolism is still pretty fast. She'll poop about 4-5 days after a meal and start actively hunting for food about 6 days after a meal. I try to keep her lean on a 10-14 day feeding schedule but she'd love to eat once a week.

Re: This little piggy
She's yours if the time ever comes Mink. You'll have to drive to Atlanta to get her though.

Re: This little piggy
Beautiful snake! She really is a massive snake and looks like she could easily take jumbo rats or even small rabbits.

Re: This little piggy
Thanks again y'all.
@ Jim Smith- I got my latest feeder order from Perfect Prey on Wednesday and I ordered a (4) pack of jumbo rats for the first time. They weren't much bigger than the large rats and I agree that she can take them with ease. I won't give her those all the time but on occasion she'll get a larger meal. I wish I could find some reasonable priced small rabbits for her, my Coastal, Bredli, and eventually the Olive. The xs and small rabbits online are $8-$9 each vs. roughly $3.25 for a jumbo rat. Even if the larger snakes ate (2) jumbos per feeding it's still a bit less.
