Ceramic Costs?? Cant figure it out.. Thanks

When trying to work out electricity costs for a 250 watt Ceramic Bulb on a Pulse Stat, how many hours per day should I put down as usage.

With a Heat Mat I can guess that with it turning on and off it will run for around 20 hours a day ON.

Any ideas on the Ceramic on a Pulse Stat?

Or, costs to run a 250 Watt Ceramic per week/month?

Thanks,

Simon

Would depend on the details of what you are keeping warm in what room and so on. If it only had to be on a certain time you wouldn't need a thermostat to keep checking the temp and adjusting it to match depending on the room changes. For the same reason I'm not sure how you can figure out the power a heat mat will take. Shouldn't it again depend on the temps around the surface you are heating and how fast it loses heat?

I run three 250 ceramics on pulse stats 24 hours a day and my electric bill is roughly £20 a week

I am looking to heat a 6ft Viv, in my lounge for a Burmese.

WOW! £20 a month for 3, so about £7 per week for 1..

I think Dave uses other electrical items as well

I am running the cost calculations on mine currently and am playing around with the comparative cost of letting the che's do their work in isolation and the cost of using a portable radiator to raise the background temperature of my snake room a few degrees.
