apricot pueblan milk snake tips.

So my very kind and sweet friend decided to give me a apricot pueblan snake.

he is shipping it overnight. I already have a tub setup and a hotspot of 88
and coolspot of 75-77

humidity is at 45-65% it drops and goes up sometimes.

So i done some research. He said it has not eaten for him for the last 3 weeks but im not worried about that.

He said its healthy and looks fine.

I wondering if you guys have any tips and suggests for me?

Just give it a couple of different hides, and a week or so to settle in before handling or feeding. If it's a young snake, it will probably be a bit flightly and perhaps even nippy. It will outgrow that fairly quickly once it settles in. One last thing, like their larger cousins Honduran Milk Snakes, these guys are escape artist. Make sure you have your enclosure very secure at all times.

i knew every thing, besides them being escape artist.

she has 3 hides, i dont handle my new snakes untill they have atleast eaten for me 2-3 times.

I'd say those temps are a few degrees too warm in my opinion. Expect it to musk, it will love burrowing and expect it to be nervous. Hands off til it's eating.

is hotspot of 86f better?

That would definitely work better. I'd personally do 74 ambient with an 84 hot spot. It's a very forgiving species so see what works for you and go for it.

my friend also said she hasn't eaten for him in 3 weeks. You got any ideas for that problem?

How long has he/she had the milk? Is it an adult? What are it's temps/humidity and what has your friend tried? What's it used to eating? Could be a number of things of which I would need answers to all of the above to help out a bit. If it's an adult, it may be refusing food because of breeding season.
