Moving questions - are snakes a problem?

Hi all,
I'm pretty new at having snakes, so I don't know some stuff that's probably pretty basic. Anyway, we are planning to move in June, and I'm starting to look at houses to rent. We've always had to contend with whether owners allow cats, but now I'm wondering if having snakes is an issue. Some people get really weird about snakes. Has anyone ever run into the owner of a rental who refused to rent to them because they have a snake?

Also, what's the best way to move them? I have a little corn snake and a young ball python. When I bought each of them, the breeder gave me fairly small containers with a bit of aspen in them to transport them. But it's possible we'll drive to our new city, and that will be over a couple of days. Is there a more comfortable way to move them?

Pillowcases placed in a cooler with warm water bottles wrapped in blankets would be the best way to move them. As far as the renter question I can't help, sorry.

Are we talking actual hot water bottles, like for putting in a bed? Or just plastic bottles with warm water in them? And a cooler might not allow for air circulation, would it?

If your driving 1000 miles you can just open it up and flip the lid up and down to move the air in and out each time you stop for gas.

It really wouldn't matter as long as there's a barrier (towel) as either would work. In regards to air circulation, these animals have 1 functional lung so their respiration rate and intake of oxygen is quite low, much lower than mammals. Think of when you've had a snake shipped to you or shippd one out..the shipping box shouldn't have much air exchange if things are packed properly (for future reference since you haven't done either yet) You'd want to periodically open the top to check on them regardless though, as well as to refresh or reheat the warm/hot water during pit stops.

If the us is anything like the uk some landlords won't like the idea of resident snakes at all! Others won't mind so much.

As for the moving some distance Andy had covered it. I'm moving on Friday but I'm moving about 1/2 a mile so not so much of an issue albeit I have 6 snakes and a lizard to shift!
