New corn and ball python snake mom here.
I spent so many years telling myself I couldn't possibly have a pet snake (my mother had a lot to do with that idea, as well as concerns over whether I could deal with feeding), I finally got a little corn snake. When I got her I also held a ball python and couldn't stop thinking about it, so about a month later, I got him, too.
My profile pic is of the corn, she's* named Garnet. She's a motley Okeetee.
*She's too little to be sexed but I just think of her as a girl because she's so pretty and dainty.
My ball python is definitely a boy. His name is Trogdor. He's a standard morph.
So far, feeding has been going really well. I was worried about switching each of them to thawed frozen, and that's gone fine for both. So I'm really pleased. I'm also glad to say that while I don't particularly enjoy handling thawed rodents, I'm not nearly as put off as I thought I'd be.
Just got some new pieces of decor for the two terrariums, and a fogger for Trogdor, as I can't seem to keep his humidity up without it.
I just see to keep thinking of questions and things I want to talk about, I'm so into my snakes, so I thought I'd find a community to come and share with. So... hi!
