Somebody stop me - Morelia amethystina pair

Oh lordy - have seen a pair of these for sale from impeccable lineage and by gosh they're about the prettiest snake I've ever seen.

Common name is the Sorong bar neck python or amethystine python (note there are 5 distinct sub species of amethystine python).

Main issue is they're almost the exact opposite of cheap but will I ever see a pair again?!

Oh what to do!

£1k for the pair but I'm getting the feeling that's actually a good price. They're simply sublime and I've been told by an independent source these are as good as they get.

Pics of parents and the pair. Darker one is the male.

Don't know how well you know your scrubs Dave but these are direct descendants of Frank Schofield stock so very gold with sublime contrast.

Just trying to do a deal as we speak...

Done-they're mine I tell you. Breeder is going to get a few more feeds in them and bring them to the next expo we have here in the UK in June.

Re: Somebody stop me - Morelia amethystina pair

They'll be a challenge for sure but I am in contact with a few keepers who can help out.

They're a snake to be respected though-not super aggressive but you cannot let your guard down with them...

Not entirely an impulse buy but I know what you mean.

Trouble is with the rare stuff you have to move quick when it comes up. These are my ultimate snake-as far as I want to go in the hobby-this is the first time I've seen a pair for sale.

Sure they're sometimes available at the main expo in the UK but not this blood line. Theres only one person over here who works Frank Schofield snakes and his are the best.

Re: Somebody stop me - Morelia amethystina pair

Mate I've heard of Frank and I have to say I'm a tad jealous. Also not all scrubs are that bad, we had a pair in the shop a while back. The female was a pleasure to work with, but the male was a wee bit flighty and unpredictable, but not what you would call overly aggressive. Plus both were juveniles
