Re: burms or retics
Retic because they come in a more manageable size for one person and such a range of stunning colours and patterns. Though I know of someone who will be breeding dwarf burms in a few years.

Re: burms or retics
I love both of these. My retics are pretty awesome, but there's just something about the personality of my burm that I can't resist. she's got the funniest and sweetest personality. The retics can be aloof at times.
Still both are pretty amazing creatures.

But if anyone asks, I only have 1. The rest just showed up for the house party.

Re: burms or retics
burms because of their personality, they're really sweet snakes, with relics you sort of have to be more wary

Re: burms or retics
I don't own retics, and my burm isn't yet old enough for me to determine his character, but I always heard burms are more mellow and have better personalities. I obviously went for burms

Re: burms or retics
Retics for me, I havnt ever had a burm myself but they just don't appeal to me..
The activity levels of a retic suit me and what I want from a snake. I'm not one to sit n watch tv with a snake on me or have them out needlessly so I love the fact that when they're out they keep you on your toes. Plus the intelligence is amazing, if they decide they want to do something or don't want them go back in the viv they'll figure a way out to achieve it!

Re: burms or retics
I voted for retics, I've always loved both. But in the past I had 10+ retics and 2 burms, now i have 5 retics 1 burm.. numbers speak for themselves in my vote. I like the intelligence and pattern of retics, but I would always have a Burmese as well

Re: burms or retics
Oh this is a tough but fun one.. we currently have 1.0 Retic and 0.1 Burm but within the next couple months will be ready to add another big guy to the mix. In our area we will have an albino Burm OR a lavender albino Retic available to us when we're ready, we just have to make the tough decision. (btw there are NO plans to breed) I'm preferable to my Burmese since she's the first big snake I've ever owned, that's an impossible bond to break. BUT I've also had an equally wonderful experience with my first Retic as well. He reminds me of a toddler with Mt Dew that just wants to play and explore lol. Overall I suppose I'd have to go with Burms.
