Setting up my hog in a new cage

Hi Guys,

So my husband and I moved from our old apartment into a smaller one (boo) and we're trying to consolidate our herps against one wall to save space. My hog, Mortarion, was kept in an exo-terra cube (18x18x18) and seemed happy enough climbing around his trees and stuff (deep down I think he has the soul of an arboreal snake XD) but I've been feeling kinda bad for him not having more horizontal space to slither around in.

I have a 20gal long that is lying around after my betta fish died ='( and would like to put him in there, however, my leopard gecko Sanguinius ALSO needs an upgrade for herself and her future boyfriend or sister (still haven't decided). She (the gecko) is kept in the exo terra 18x18x12 and she does not like it one bit.

I've been debating on who should get the 20gal and who I can put in a 10gal that I have stored at work. I know geckos can live in pairs in a 10 gal, but it would be nice to have Sanguinius in a larger, longer tank.

So I guess the question is: can Mortarion live comfortably in a 10gal?

It depends on how big he is. I'd say if he's over 3ft it may be a bit small for him, but I'm sure others have their own opinions.

I think the general consensus is 3/4 the total length of the snake. So, if your snake is four feet long, that means a tank that is 3ft long, or a 30-40gal aquarium (36in long).

1. Yes he'll be fine in a 10 gallon. Male hognoses really don't obtain long lengths. The geckos should be given more space so they aren't so on top of each other.

2. Your next name has to be one of the following: Abaddon, Guillieman, Ahriman
2A. If you're stuck on good names - "Mephiston the 5th" in honour of his bad assness in the 5th edition game.

Mortarion is only 22in and he's done growing. So he's be fine in the 10gal then? Also, the next name has to be a primarch. We already have those two and Vulkan (beardie). Though my husband had been bugging me for an Abbadon or a Mephiston. Lol

Yeah a 10gal will be fine. He's barely longer than the length of the tank!

Russ, Guilliman, Lorgar (I like this guy a lot), Horus (I dont like), Fulgrim, Konrad Curze (My personal favourite Primarch).
