Battery back up

I currently have 2 analogue thermostats with an led indicator when source is active hooked up to each other.

I would like to replace this with either a digital led temp/heat/cooling/timer thermostat with probe or an AC-213 PID timer temperature controller. What would be best?

I would also need something to measure the humidity.

Also, in case of power failure, is there anything I can use as a battery back up and how would I hook that up?

Re: Battery back up

I've now found another model which I quite like. Is the Vivarium Electronics VE-300x2 for roughly $200 good enough for a carpet python?

That's a good thermostat. I have all VE thermostats for my collection.

Re: Battery back up

I use deep cycle batteries and an inverter for power outages. You can use computer UPS's but they usually don't have much run time unless you get an expensive one. It's expensive either way though. Some thermostats don't like inverter power either because it's not exactly the same as shore power. Ymmv.
