Feeding Burms

Are there any alternatives to rabbits when it comes to feeding Burms? I've seen guinea pugs, but that won't really work when they get larger. I've also seen chickens, could chickens be a better source of protein for the snake?

I have heard of feeding them piglets and baby goats. Not aure if that's true, but it's what I have heard.

I've heard chickens lead to very runny feces.

Chickens lead to bad feces in all the large constrictors.

The best bet with burms would be rabbits (multiple if needed) and piglets.

All my big ones always got a rabbit every other week.

I've never personally fed ours chicken but I've a mate that's fed his chicken and pheasant on regular occasions and apart from the poo,s it doesn't seem to do them any harm. But he is also feeding them rabbits aswell

. I've tried Daisy with still born lamb but she turned her nose up at it which is a pity, because I can get about 5 to 7 of those in lambing season for free. If Jenny our retic grows another few feet we'll maybe try her with one and see how see goes

. I've fed my giants everything I could get my hands on that could be considered a prey animal. Have to say this was mostly to retics. They even ate fish, never tried it for a burm. A friend of mine bred miniature goats and sheep for her herding dogs, if she had too many I bought them (Usually bucks/rams because they were hard to sell). And i fed piglets, they were stillborns I bought at a local farm.

Didnt have those very often though, also they were quite small.

Is it that the rabbits are to small or not nutritionally enough? I'v wondered about this my self... All my guys get is rats... Can a snake live off one species of animal it's whole live and stay healthy?

I wouldn't personally keep feeding a mainland retic with rats his whole life, even my adult dwarf outgrew them. I'd have to feed 5 or so rats to get a noticable lump. But ive never had a retic outgrow the bigger rabbits,

So besides the runny feces, a burmese python could be fed exclusively chicken?

Im not a fan of feeding only chicken myself, I'd have to look into nutritional value but imo they're suppose to eat mainly red meat.

I watch Jay Brewer at Prehistoric Pets on YouTube and he feeds mainly rabbits with some poultry for a change.

Mostly rabbits here, but one time i gave my male burm a piglet and he was very happy with it

And since i had a smaller one too, i tried to feed the boa who did take and eat it too.
