The Hognose That Ate the World

I got my daughter a pair of hognose for her last birthday. We've had them a few months now. The little male is pretty laid back. The female thinks EVERYTHING is edible. I find it funny.

She's relentless Em. Was she hungry or is she just that tenacious?

She's always like that. It doesn't matter if she's eaten or not.

lol Hopefully she doesn't do that to your fingers, it wouldn't feel nice. She may or may not outgrow it. lol

Demigod my garter is insatiable as well. He doesn't go around chewing on random things (anymore - that lasted the first 2 weeks and he quit), but he acts like he's on the verge of starving no matter how much I feed him.

Re: The Hognose That Ate the World

My rosy spent 2 months latching onto everything in range and trying to grab things through the glass. That included me a few times. Now she just threatens to try to eat the cat if she doesn't get fed often enough for her opinion. The cat of course finds this fascinating and sticks her paw on the glass or wire to watch the boa attack it. I tend to get the boa out when the cats have been locked upstairs for the night lol

Wow, that's unusual. Maybe you should consider increasing the size of her feeders? I did conjure up a picture of a venomous species watching her though.

Oh, she'll latch onto a finger in a heartbeat. I don't know if she'll outgrow it or not, but it's not a huge deal to me. My daughter doesn't like to mess with her too much, but she has the male and a couple of corn snakes that are easy to handle. This one is more fun to feed though.

Re: The Hognose That Ate the World

I've had females that would try to eat hooks, hides, water dishes, fingers, mates...I could go on. Awesome feeder though! Thanks for sharing.
