Is it the End of Her Life?

My 23-year-old corn snake Rosie hasn't eaten in 6 months. Every time that she ate a meal, she would regurgitate it. She has really healthy sheds and she is still super active. Some of her scales are cracking I noticed... she is my first snake, I got her two years ago from a reptile rescue. She was super sick when I got her and now she is better. Anyway, I was just wondering if I should have her euthanized or if I should let her die naturally? She hasn't eaten in so long that am worried that this might be the end...

Wow... That's so sad... I so sorry... I won't put her down unless you thing she is suffering... She might rally!

Sorry to hear this... Geriatric medicine in reptiles is a frontier that needs a lot more research and study. It might be worthwhile to at least present the history and the animal to a local exotic vet. Even if it's just for a professional opinion. Maybe it will call for the animal to be tube fed ?

I would definitely take her in for a visit to the vet. Maybe there's medication that can help. If not, hopefully they can give you an honest assessment on it' s quality of life care options.

Not a great deal of comfort I know but 23 years is a good long life for a corn so you've obviously looked after her well over the years.

I'm not sure I'd put such an old snake through something like tube feeding. I second going to a trusted vet and getting an honest opinion on the options.

If it's her time to go then you have many years of memory to look back on.
