New to the forum and new owner

After years of wanting and quite a bit of research on ball pythons my boyfriend stumbled across a Dekay brown snake at work a few weeks ago and we decided to keep the little critter.

Shortly thereafter we finally got the set up we were looking for and got a 9 month old pastel mojave ball python who is about as sweet as they get.

I've been reading this forum for weeks and finally decided it was time to join.

Jumped in with 2 new babies! That a girl

Good luck getting Buck on frozen/thawed. Once you accomplish that, you'll be considered experienced for sure. Heehee

Giving the first f/t rat a shot tonight. I've read up on everything as far as defrosting, heating, the zombie dance, a small cut for brain matter if needed, etc. He also is normally fed every monday so I gave it a couple more days to ensure he would be hungry. *fingers crossed*

I'll update once we see what happens! Dogs, cats, turtles, snakes, kids in the house cause me no issues but live rodents gross me out lol so he WILL learned to eat F/T regardless of how much work I have to put into it.

Re: New to the forum and new owner

Hooray!
Gave the rat a good defrost and about 10 minutes under the heat lamp to warm up. Then put it in his tank (using the long tweezers) and he immediately hid. So I waited for him to uncool and show a bit of interest. As soon as he was looking at the rat I started moving it backward like it was retreating and BAM! He took it with no issue.

I am so so glad to know he will take the f/t and no live rodents in the house.
