Thanks to Those!
Just a thank you to those who chimed in all my posts. Finalized the purchase on this guy, a Colombian Boa Constrictor. Still endlessly searching for a name, but I might just go with Diego to go with my Ball Python who's name is Sid. I'll be receiving him Thursday (along with a giant horse plushie because horses). I've got his enclosure all set up, just need to add substrate, which will be paper towel for the time being. I'll want to add in a substrate that will raise the humidity but is safe to eat on. What would I be looking at getting? Oh, and my divider that I'm currently using to make the tub smaller will only hold for so long, as it was made on the whim. What have you used for dividers?

Re: Thanks to Those!
I use an Ecoearth / orchid bark mix. Looks pretty natural and great to hold the humidity.
Without wishing to restart the great substrate debate all substrates are safe for a snake to eat on assuming temperatures etc are good.
Fantastic choice of snake as well. Boa imperators are just awesome creatures and are a rewarding snake to keep. Yours is a stunner. More pictures as and when please

Definitely not looking to start a debate, aha. I know how those go. Thank you, Danny, for your insight. I will love to get pictures of this fella'. I also need to do another photo-shoot with Sid. I've been wanting a Boa for a while and boom, this one pops up on my screen. What a coincidence .

(Both are cities in Colombia)

Re: Thanks to Those!
I use EcoEarth with great success, very few beddings will cause problems for snakes, they can pass just about anything.

Thanks, BSG. I might go with the EcoEarth blend or just straight EcoEarth (:

Re: Thanks to Those!
Well, he's here. The pictures I could snap were atrocious, so I'm going to wait a week. I have horrid lighting in that spare room, lol. He didn't show any attitude unboxing. He's of course all hissy and puffed up now but that's as to be expected I'll sure give you your alone time, Mister.
KBK reptiles did a very good job at responding and I'm quite happy with my purchase. Now, if I could get a set-up for taking decent quality pictures, that would be great.
Pictures to come soon. Please be patient
