Re: Need advice

Whats the husbandry? Have there been any changes to how you're keeping him? 2 weeks is really nothing to be concerned about, so don't worry too much.

Re: Need advice

And apologies if you know this but by husbandry we me the specifics of how the Boa is being kept; temperature, temperature gradient, basking spot temp, humidity, size of viv, lighting, substrate, number of hides etc.

Boas are generally waste disposal units but that's not to say they don't have their off days. My boa for example won't eat the day she's shed-I always have to leave it an extra day whether she's due a feed or not.

Also what are you feeding it? Type and size of prey.

Don't keep trying to offer food until we know a little more. The last thing you want is for your snake to associate food with stress.

One final thing-don't panic! They can go a very long time without food with little or no ill effects (assuming they are otherwise in good health.

Re: Need advice

don't panic about 2 weeks. they sometimes go on hunger strikes no matter how perfect your set-up is. it's harder on the owner than the snake when they don't eat for awhile. as long as they don't lose much weight you are o k.

Re: Need advice

Wow you guys are awesome I appreciate your knowledge and responses the temp on his hot side is a little over 80 f I think I'm going to get a stinger bulb to bring it up a bit and humidity I've been struggling to keep up but I recently bought a fogger but doesn't seem to work well so I've been spraying as well and the bedding I have is loose coconut fiber substrate, I'm also going to be making a trip to the pet store to get some plants and vines to put in too
