Gonyosoma Says Hello
Got a few pics before I sprayed down his enclosure for the night. He hated the pics and gave me a bite of appreciation to let me know.

Re: Gonyosoma Says Hello
Red Tailed Green Ratsnake. It's sort of misleading bc the tail isn't red.

Re: Gonyosoma Says Hello
Will it eventually turn red? Or is yours special? I really want a green snake to add to my collection and have looked into these before.

Re: Gonyosoma Says Hello
Lovely snakes. I've seen some with at least a muddy brown tail as adults.
For me though if I was going to get a green snake it'd have to be a GTP...

Re: Gonyosoma Says Hello
I have thought of an emerald tree boa but I like the green rat and the ornate flying snake as well. GTPs are also nice, but they are a bit fragile I believe and are known for having bad attitudes. Not sure I'm up for all that lol.

Oh very impressive looking! Love the contrast between green and black, looks very rough.

I thought ETB's were way more fragile than their python cousins. Could be wrong though. But yes either way they can be cantankerous.
I agree in general though a green snake snake is very appealing. I wonder if it has to do with the human association with green dragons and serpents in myths and legends?

Re: Gonyosoma Says Hello
You know, I'm not sure now lol. I'll have to do more research and ask more questions when I'm 100% ready to get one.
And maybe? Though I really accociate dragons with black, red, and white more so than green. Maybe that's just me though?

ATBs are very fragile to handle as juveniles but as adults they're a bit more robust
ETBs husbandry can difficult to get right
GTPs on the whole are mostly chainsaws but you can get the odd one that can be handled during the day
Hope this helps some

The contrast with the black undertones is quite nice. I never really knew it was part of their coloration until I got one.

Re: Gonyosoma Says Hello
I adore this snake. If I'd had room for more than one bab, I would have snagged one of these. I had no idea they had existed at the time. .) Are their tempers good? Is there a guide anywhere that explains how their husbandry is?

Re: Gonyosoma Says Hello
Beautiful colors, but I don't ever recall seeing any CB babies available. I still want a bright green rat snake or two for my collection, haven't run across the right one yet.
