Coco liner as a hide!

I went out and bought my Taiwanese beauty snake one of those 12" coco plant liners for a hide on the cool side... $4.oo bucks... Hes out growing his hot side hide... He went in his new hide and has been in there all day! He completely fills it up and his head is sticking out ... I think he likes it.
Is there any reason I can't soak this thing and use it as a wet box?

I do not know what these planter liners are, but it sounds like you'd be fine using them like that. Maybe stuff them a bit more if there's room.
Otherwise, a $4 dollar hide that you can dispose of doesn't sound bad.

You're talking about the planters made of compressed coconut husk fibers? If so, then I see no reason why you can't soak it to use as a humid hide.

Re: Coco liner as a hide!

Well I just may have cut off my nose to spite my face! I'm never going to get to see this snake again... He really, really likes it.... I did soak it down this morning with a spray bottle and he stuck his head out and then his tongue as if to say WHAT! WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW! GO AWAY! so I did...

LOL. I also like the looks of them, it's kinda of a natural feel to it. Well you may not see your snake but at least it's a happy camper!

Re: Coco liner as a hide!

The only one draw back I see so far; is if he climbs on top his weight will crush it...
