New Hog!

I've had her for a little while now so she's not exactly new. But I did just find something out that's pretty exciting! Pics first

So this is my new gal. Named her Oryx. She's 274g ~ish, I just have tiny hands that make her look WAY bigger.

I purchased her and was advised she may be het albino. Cool! But I thought she looked kind of like an Anaconda hog. I really didn't want to be one of *those* buyers who go "I bought this as a normal but look! I found a tiny difference, is it something super fancy?!" because I know how annoying that can be.

Anyways, while at work I was browsing / obsessively checking the classifieds on a few facebook groups and did a search for "hognose". I found this

And thought that the female hog looked familiar.

I did some comparisons and a lot of spots match. Then I noticed this

So I'm almost positive that they're the same! Which is pretty sweet.

Feel free to point out anything that looks to prove they're not the same. I obviously would prefer them to be the same so I may be overlooking something. But I think I might have gotten a really great deal.

Re: New Hog!

Thanks! Understandable, I'm going to try to get a picture of her later that matches the pose of the other photo. Just at work right now so I can't.

Re: New Hog!

Same snake. 100% confdent in stating that. Definitely an anaconda, and if it's from Norm at Dino Reptiles and is a het red albino, the mother or perhaps the grandmother of that one may have very well come from me and that line throws AMAZING red albinos. Fantastic grab!

Re: New Hog!

She's from Justin at Extreme Hogs! I got her for 250$ plus taxes and shipping. So I'm super excited about it haha.

Thank you!

Re: New Hog!

Ah! Different line then, but still very nice!

That girl would probably be ready to breed next year if you wanted her to.

Re: New Hog!

Yes! I am hoping to buy from Norm in the near future though. His hogs are gorgeous. I just need to try to refrain from acquiring too many snakes too fast

Re: New Hog!

No problem! It's like 2am so the pics don't have the best light but figured they would do for now

Yeah! Me too. It's pretty exciting. Thanks!

Re: New Hog!

Yay staying up late haha. I didn't actually get to sleep until sometime past 10am this morning. Less fun.

I've been trying to figure out what happened that she ended up being sold as a normal. So far I've found who purchased her from the ad and have sent him a message. I'm a bit concerned people might get cranky with me asking questions but that's probably just me being overly paranoid.
