Please help me identify this ssnakess

I'm in Bay st. Louis , Mississippi, saw this guy sitting on the porch and was looking to identify him. He is pretty small about a foot long.

It's a Corn Snake (Pantherophis guttatus), harmless. Good snakes to have around, they eat a lot of rodents. Very popular as pets as well.

Re: Please help me identify this ssnakess

Common corn snake. They are awesome! He won't hurt you at all, but he'll do a great job keeping your rodent population in check if you are willing to let him hang out in your yard. When fully grown they get about 4 to 4 1/2 feet long and about the diameter of a garden hose.

They often get mistaken for copperheads, unfortunately, and find themselves at the business end of a shovel.
