Common corn snake. They are awesome! He won't hurt you at all, but he'll do a great job keeping your rodent population in check if you are willing to let him hang out in your yard. When fully grown they get about 4 to 4 1/2 feet long and about the diameter of a garden hose.
They often get mistaken for copperheads, unfortunately, and find themselves at the business end of a shovel.
