Any idea what kind of snake this is

Was taking a walk and saw this snake in the neighborhood - dead

I am in south Texas if that helps. Stretched out i'd say he was about 3 1/2 feet

Western Rat Snake (Pantherophis obsoletus), harmless. Formerly known as and still commonly called a Texas Rat Snake (Elaphe obsoleta lindheimeri). Good snakes to have around, they eat a lot of rodents.
