New Arrival - Static the Mojave Spider

The last of my future ball python breeding stock ("Last!" my hubby laughs) has arrived. His name is Static, and he does have markings reminiscent of lightning. He's a 2015 Mojave Spider, and when he grows up he will be paired with one of my Super Mojave BEL girls. In exchange for not divorcing me when I blew past my promised 3 snake limit at 100 mph, he got to name all of the ball pythons. It was a small price to pay. He loves superheroes so they are all named after one comic book character or another.

A tiny snake in his travel bag.

Doing what ball pythons do best.

Curiosity getting the better of him. He has lovely green eyes. He also has some scars on his face... my guess would be live rat-inflicted. According to his breeder he will accept F/T when he has to, so that's what he's getting from now on.

Exploring his tub (I hadn't yet put his hides in there as I wasn't sure exactly how big he'd be and what size he would take). By the end of the summer we should have several banks of NPI stacking cages and he'll have a sweet display enclosure.

Re: New Arrival - Static the Mojave Spider

Nice pickup! He looks really healthy with good body tone and musculature. How old is he? Oh, 2015. Got it.

Re: New Arrival - Static the Mojave Spider

He seems healthy, docile and curious. He's a neat little guy. He's quite a bit smaller than my 2015 Purple Passion - he's taking weaned rats and my Purple Passion just graduated to small adult rats - but that may be a difference in age. Don't think they're more than a couple of months apart though. I know Static the new guy was hatched 8/11/2015 but am not sure of Quicksilver's exact hatch date.

When paired with one of the Super Mojave girls, we have a 25% chance for this Spider Super Mojave, Spider Super Mojave - Morph List - World of Ball Pythons a blue-eyed Lucy with spidering. I've never seen anything like it and wouldn't even know how to price the offspring, but it's really cool nonetheless and I hope we get a few. The other possibilities are all tried and true: Mojave, Mojave Spider and Super Mojave BEL.
