Anyone like Savu pythons?
Such a cool little species. Not too many around these days. Fortunately there are a few keepers working with them now a days.
Cheers,
D

Re: Anyone like Savu pythons?
I've considered them, maybe in another year or two.

So cool. I'd love to have one someday but I've never seen them around here.

Re: Anyone like Savu pythons?
Those look awesome! I seem to remember seeing somewhere that they can be tricky to breed? Or maybe it was that they take a few extra years till they are sexually mature. I also could totally be thinking about something else.

Re: Anyone like Savu pythons?
Yeah, they can be a little tricky to get eggs. It's like anything else I guess...if you have the patience for it. Much like the BHPs.....takes a little more effort but hey...I like that. Haha.

Re: Anyone like Savu pythons?
The story I was told was that WC females are very difficult to breed but CB females not so, so once someone got eggs they began to expand and most WC females never gave eggs. No idea if that's true or not, tho so YMMV if more WC ever come in.

They can be a little psycho...my males are fine but the females are hell on wheels. lol.
Husbandry....well they are equator animals for the most part and are pretty easy. They don't need excessive cooling, etc...which I think is where keeps have messed up in the past with the species.
