What snake is this???

I dont know what type of snake this is.. He likes to burrow under his substrate and is yellowish with dark brown spots almost like a giraffe. My concern is I put an under tank heater but it gets extremely hot. Is this good for this type of snake considering he burrows. I figured it has a better effect due to that reason. What good is a lamp if he's underground? Also I'm keeping him so what should I name him? Hope I attached the photos correctly

Re: What snake is this???

Hi Chris. No idea about the species, but you MUST control any heat source with a thermostat. Hopefully somebody can identify the species for you.

Re: What snake is this???

It is a Kenyan sand boa. I agree your heat source should have a thermostat to control it. Otherwise it can be extremely dangerous for the animal.

Chris, you have a Kenyan sand boa, but aren't really sure about what it is or husbandry? Please tell me you just fell into this animal by chance and didn't go out and buy on a whim...

btw, I second the thermostat comments...
