Perfect Prey - Arival

Got my rodents today after a fair bit of drama. I have been tracking the package since it shipped on monday and today at anout 2:17 pm cental time it showed 'delivered' but it said 'Delivered to address other than recipient'. This didn't make sense, so I called fedex to ask what that meant. Apparently since it's been raining off and on the delivery driver decided it wasn't safe to leave it at the door, so took it to my complex office. Normally I wouldn't be bothered by this, however, the office hours are only 9am-5pm and I don't get home till 10pm and leave for work at 8am (doing as much over time as possible to pay for extras for the upcoming house). So I tell the rep this and she asures me she will get a deiver out to the office to pick it up and take it to my door. I was very happy about this and went about my work day. Then, at 4pm, I miss a call and listen to the voicemail. Fedex says they can't get a guy out till after 5pm.... this is HIGHLY upsetting since I won't have time toget to the office until friday, and they have been packaged since monday.... Well, I call my mom to see if she can leave work early to go get the package, but she can't. So, I leave work, 4 hiurs early to squeez an hour long commute into 45 minutes....I probably violated 6 traffic laws to get totheboffice before it closed. But...I make it worh 5 minutes to spare! Only to be told that the fedex guy got there 5 minutes before me and already grabbed the box and took it to my apartment....SERIOUSLY?!?!? I just lost 4 hours of work and didn't even need to?!?! Grrr!!!

Well, I get the box inside and start unpacking. Man do they love tape! It took a little while to get it all cut open (which helped work off some of my rage at fedex lol). DAAAAANG do they insulate well! Plastic, paper bag, whatlooks like fiberglass insulation too, and a big bag of dry ice! Just like they advertise, everything is very nicely packaged, and I can already SEE that they are cleaner. They don't apear yellowed or dirty, and no sign of stuck poop! I left them sealed since feeding day is saturday, so I'll give them a better visual look over and a sniff test as well.

Oh! They also sent a free pen that is also a stylis. Pretty nice pen! XD
For now, here's some unboxing photos!

I thought the pen was a nice touch too Mink. I like Perfect Prey. I'll normally only use them and Big Cheese but I may have to get some xs rabbits from Layne Labs.

Re: Perfect Prey - Arival

I prefer Big Cheese but last time I tried for a month to order and they were always out of large rats. But I love the way they pack things on trays.
I ended up ordering from Rodent Pro, not my favorite but they are okay.
Next time I will check out Perfect Prey if the prices are comparable I may switch.

Rodent pro kind of ticked me off because several of the mice were headless and I counted them all and there were no heads to go with the bodies. What the heck am I supposed to do with headless mice?

Re: Perfect Prey - Arival

@ Sasha- Big Cheese was my exclusive supplier too but I had the same issues with their lack of medium and large rats. I had already gotten burned twice with soiled feeders from Rodent Pro. I gave Perfect Prey a try and to me they're right on par with Big Cheese in terms of pricing, packaging, and feeder quality. Definitely worth a try if you're in a pinch. I'll probably use both .

Re: Perfect Prey - Arival

Rodent Pro always has stinky feeders. Next time I wont have to order so much now that my ASF's are producing pretty good and I even started a second colony.Im only using them for my cornsnakes and so far no one has turned them down.

Re: Perfect Prey - Arival

Everyone has bad experiences with rodent pro, but I've never been anything but happy with them. Maybe it's because all my orders are picked up in person at the cleveland reptile show?
