Talking Popeye's Progression Thread - This one will work.

Hi all,

My last progression thread got a bit messy because of the photo uploads. My Imgur account will hopefully remedy this. We'll start with pic from yesterday, of a post shed Popeye in the sun.

Fingers crossed this works, feeding pics coming soon!

Cheers,
Herpo

Feeding pics! Yay! I must admit the fact that he made the rat bleed shocked me...

"I don't know where the rat went, no!"

Popeye is looking great Herpo. He has beautiful colors. I'm sure he feels pretty good too after that rat. I love the last picture.

And another update! He's eating soon, so I'll post some pics of that. Quail is on the menu. Here are some recent pics:

Here, he was inspecting everyones tastes in music on my other thread! Popeye is an avid follower of Ssnakess!

And here, he was inspecting his mate, hiding in the mirror! Silly snake!

Very nice Herpo. Has Popeye eaten quail before? I've haven't tried quail with any of my snakes yet. I did give my young jungle his first chick this weekend. It took him a while to figure out how to eat it but he got it down with no problem. I'm looking forward to pics of Popeye downing that quail.

Popeye is a beautiful looking carpet, I think I'm just going to specialize in Australia pythons, I have such a fascination for them

Re: Popeye's Progression Thread - This one will work.

Thank you everyone!

El Ziggy, this is his second quail. He takes everything down basically, he has no problem eating...once he finds the head XD.

I only gave them to him recently because his staple is rats, and young carpets are very fond of quail, being known to refuse all other food once they've tasted it. So we waited around 10 months.

Jpsteele, they are great animals to work with. Olives, carpets, and the antaresia genus are my favourites. And the gtps and white lips are beautiful.

I'll upload the feeding pics this afternoon when I get home from school.

Cheers,
Herpo

Not all are like that. Most are like that when young, and eventually grow out of it. Which species was he?

Also, I'll post pics tomorrow, my internet is running slow, so uploading images to Imgur takes ages.

Popeye is awesome. I love your pictures and he is totally stunning. But the pic of him reading sSnakess is the best ever. Thanks for sharing him.

Re: Popeye's Progression Thread - This one will work.

Thanks for all your replies everyone! Here is the promised feeding pic, little man took the quail right in his water bowl. It was pretty interesting!

I took him out into the grass for the first time today. It was so cute to see how curious he was, periscoping above the grass and flickering his tongue like crazy, following the movement of the flies!
