Mexican Beaded Lizard (Heloderma Horridum Exasperatum)

Picked this big guy up from my buddy this past weekend and I love him already, so much personality! He's finishing a shed so don't mind a few flakes here and there, he was tame with the previous owner but I'm taking my time with him and keeping handling to a minimum.

That said onto the pics:

First soak, these guys absolutely LOVE water haha

Good eater and will easily take from tongs

Somehow the inquisitiveness comes through in the still photos. Very cool. How old is he?

He's a CB from Steve Angeli but my buddy has had him since then, that said he's about 4-5.

I love varanids and his enclosure was originally going to be for a monitor but I got the opportunity to get him instead and jumped on it.

Wow, awesome addition! Looks like a dinosaur. What's the venom potency of these guys?

The venom potency is high, he is still very much a hot but you won't likely die from a bite but anaphylaxis is possible. Now with that said some of them are very mellow and can be held easily. Mine tolerates being held but he's still got an attitude I have to make sure he knows I'm there by touching his tail and hell turn and hiss then I can pick him up but if he wants he could really ruin my week.
