Should I Be Concerned?

My white lip last ate on November 17th. I'm not so concerned with the not eating anymore. He pooped about a week after that meal, and then probably about 3 weeks after that. But today he pooped again. Is that normal? I realize in some snakes it would be, I just wasn't sure if thats the case for white lips. I figured he's be cleared out by now. As far as I can tell it looks normal too, its mostly urates (not shocking).

Re: Should I Be Concerned?

I know what you mean Adrian. My Cal King pooped AND shed after not eating for 10 weeks! I think our guys are ok. It just shows me how amazing they are at conserving energy.

Re: Should I Be Concerned?

Unless he's losing weight I wouldn't worry much about it. He'll eat eventually right?

Re: Should I Be Concerned?

He's losing weight but nothing drastic, nothing unexpected. I was actually more concerned with the pooping so far after eating

I wouldn't be worried about that. What do you consider drastic weight loss? For me its a loss of 10-15% depending on the initial weight.

I would agree with that. I don't think he's lost that much. He's taken 2 meals since the end of August and barely lost enough to notice, and doesn't look unhealthy. I never got a weight on him so I can't give percentages.

You know him best. The only thing that would worry me would be dehydration.

Re: Should I Be Concerned?

Valid concern. He has urates regularly and I keep the humidity up so hopefully its not an issue

Re: Should I Be Concerned?

Well. Keep an eye on it I guess. It's not uncommon for the time of year. Correct me if I'm wrong but WLP have a long cool brumation period right? Like colder than most?
