Any pacman frog owners?

Are there any pacman frog (Ceratophrys ornata) owners? I really like the look of them and their requirements seems to be pretty easy too. I would like to hear about your experiences with these frogs, as I never owned any frog at all... I know their bites can hurt and that they are rather messy. Can they live in naturalistic viv at all, or will they destroy everything? Any tips for the beginner?

They would distroy everything in a natural viv. Also, they almost never move and like to burry themselves other than their head. Super eat to take care of over all so long as you keep humidity up. They will also sometimes vocalize, but it's kinda rare.

Over all a pretty, yet boring pet.

Yeah, I know that they are "rocks that will move once in a year", but still I like the look of them. But I was afraid that they will destroy everything, and I rather prefer naturalistic vivs over "breeding boxes", so I need to think about it properly...

Well, depends on what you mean by natural. The best way to keep them is in a mix of soil and ecoearth. You could probably put some weighted based fake plants or the kind that suction to the sides for a more natual look, and put a cork bark half (not round) in there. They will uproot real plants though, so I wouldn't suggest that.

So long as you don't expect much movement or interaction with it, they are actually pretty cool.

For substrate I always suggest to make it twice as deep as they are 'tall'. Gives them room to dig and helps maintain good humidity for them as well.

Oh! And oc course a water dish big enough to soak in.

And don't use filtered water. Just use the fish chemical for dechlorinating water. They actually benifit from the minerals. And, it's also best to let water sit still, with the chemical in it for 24 hrs to give it time to actually dechlorinate.

Frogs are much more susceptible to chlorine than fish, but it's kind of the same concept of letting a new fish tank run for 24 hrs before adding fish.

Also, I'm sure you know this, but only house one in a tank. They WILL eat eachother.... -learned hard way when younger-
