Some of my Cresties
So, I have a total of 8 adult cresties. 2 are rescued males, one of which is not fot for breeding, and the other just doesn't really fit in my breeding plans, but is probably my favorite male. The other 6 are 1.2 trios. One trio is harley/pinner/flame (they make crazy patterned babies) and the other are all yellow, 1 female patternless blusher, and 2 dalmations. Felt on a bit of a photo spree the other day so took some pics. =)
To start things off is my yellow crew.
Pic 1: Jupiter, sold to me as a male yellow dalmation but has seemed to mature into a really NICE cream dalmation instead....I am not complaining. This photo of him is what he looks like 95% of the time. Even when fired up, he's an extremely pale, pastel yellow color. He is also a total scardy gecko and hides just about all of the time and haaaates being handled. Too bad I don't give him a choice lol.
Pic 2: Tango, probably my favorite female out of all my cresties. She was sold as a normal yellow, but has proven to be a NEON yellow and a nice one at that as she blushes a brilliant pink/orange color that is extremely hard to get on photo, but I will keep trying lol. She is a prolific egg producer and is STILL laying eggs from when she was accedently exposed to an unknown male before I got her, then paired up with Jupiter. And all of her eggs have hatched! Each one is a patternless so far and range from a muddy yellow to a deep red that looks almost brown when they are fired down. Keeping 1 nice yellow hold back baby to see what gender it is. She is pretty easy going and one that doesn't mind peeking out at the world from behind a safe leaf and is totally chill riding around on my shoulder.
Pic 3: Mango (usually I hate food names but she came named and fit with Tangobso left it lol). Female yellow dalmation woth ink blotch and red spots! Got her last spring so this may be her 1st season if I breed (whoch I'm not sure about since I have ppans on moving). She likes to hide and not fond of handling, but at her age, not unusual. I hope she chills out so she and Tango can ride my should together. =)

Re: Some of my Cresties
Pic1: Legend, male harley and my first male I got him and Relic for a steal since a local herp friend was getting out of breeding and gave me some hatchlings to either keep or sell. I sold all but these two and was pleasently surprised that they turned out to be a 1.1 pair! And they were from different lines to boot! He's a hider but laid back as well. It was a rare opportunity to catch him perched like that. I think this pic was when he was next to his gf, Relic, and he was longing to be with her.
Pic 2: Relic, female harley/pinner, got with Legend. She is bold and usually on display. Doesn't mind handling either. I wish I had more to say about her.
Pic 3: Maliwan, harley/flame female. She was not exactly a rescue, but I did get her for only the cost of shipping as her previous owner got her as a surprise extra from some big time breeder, but she turned out to be a total spaz and the lady hated dealing with her. She didn't feel that she would make a good breeder because of her crazy personality. Mali didn't disapoint either. The day I got her ahe flew from her deli cup to the the floor and proceeded to attack my big toe! (Not even kidding). I handled her daily for 3 solid months before I saw much progress. Now however, she is pretty easy tonhandle. She still hates to be grabbed, but once in hand, she's good, and no more biting!!! I have not experienced any of this craziness with any of her babies either, so I think it's just her, and look forward to her next clutch. =)

Re: Some of my Cresties
Last but not least, my 2 non-breeder males!
Pic 1-3: Mr. Stubbs (named by my mom lol) was my 1st ever crestie. I got him at my 1st ever repticon. He was being sold by a snake vender for a 'buddy' of his. He had stuck shed, batrle scares from being in a tank with other males, and MBD, which you can see bybhis twisted spine. When I got him home, he couldn't climb ANYTHING because of the bad shed and MBD combined. Took him a good while to get back on track. He is one of the easiest geckos to handle, and has been used as an educational ambassador for cresties as well as MBD. He's just a simple patternless buckskin (I think...) but is still a great gecko. =)
Pics 4 & 5: Duckie, named for being an 'ugly duckling'. I got him as a chocolate patternless, but he developed quite a few spots. He was a pet store purchas right after I got Stubbs. He is the onky gecko I have had loose a tail in my care....he got out one day and I found him on the floor board. When I went to catch him, he actually THREW his tail at me! Little jerk.... But, other than that he is also always on dusplay and actually very easy to handle. While Stubbs is special to me, Duckie is probably my favorite male of my cresties. =)

Re: Some of my Cresties
Nice work keeping the tails on most of them, especially with breeding! They all look phenomenal. And Tango! I've never seen such bright yellow on a crestie! Very nice collection overall. Dalmatians and harleys are my favorite morphs. I hope you'll post pictures of some of the babies you produce!

Re: Some of my Cresties
Thanks! I also just noticed that t looks like Tango is tailess, but she isn't. Her tail is just in shadow. =)
Also, I find that if you make a crestie USE it's tail, they are less likely to LOOSE their tail. Not a guarantee, but it's proven useful so far. =)
I'll throw a few posts up of babies a little later.

Re: Some of my Cresties
Also, I am thinking of pairing Tango with Legend in hopes of some really bright harley/pinners. Apparently her parents were harleys and she just happened tobpop out patternless lol. Nobidea how that works and I have no proof...but it may be something to try!

Re: Some of my Cresties
Felt like taking more pics....may take more tomorrow too lol.
This is my yellow hold back baby. Probably keeping it even if it's male. It looks so much like it's mom, Tango. Already at such a small size it is exibiting some SERIOUS yellow!
The first 4 pics are without flash under a normal light bulb from a lamp. Last pic is with flash. The only changes made to these pics was that I cropped the first 4. =)

Re: Some of my Cresties
Very nice Mink! I love the colors on your hold back. How do the cresties and leopards compare with each other on temperament and such?
I like the leopards overall look a bit more, but the cresties look cute as a button too.

Re: Some of my Cresties
I would rank them with the same temperment but different personality types. Also, Cresties drop their tails SUPER easy, where leos generally hang onto theirs.
Both have simple care as well. While cresties don't need heat, you do need to prep their food. So really, once a leo is established with proper heat, feeding is easier (imo) since I can just drop some worms in with them vs mixing goop and putting it in little cups for consumption. =)
And just because...here's a pic of Tango and her holdback baby =)
