rudest trader / breders you ever met?

whats your experience? Ever met and absolute idiot in the business? I had my first one this week and i must say i still have to think about this.

I´m currently looking for a male Correlophus sarasinorum (white collar) and they are pretty rare. So i wrote an email to a guy who set an article online that he has 4 hatchlings from this year.

The response i recieved was quite wrong. He said he does no business with german bastards, nazi bla bla blubb.

I first wanted to write a response but decided to just let it be. But too be honest i´m still kinda angry about this.

Re: rudest trader / breders you ever met?

I saw a guy selling a yearling male MBK on craigslist once. There was tons of yellow on this snake, so I emailed him suggesting that it may not be a pure MBK. (I was polite and never accused him of lieing), and I a nasty email back about what a stupid, worthless person I was along with alot of other mean, hateful stuff. I wasn't looking to buy, but if I was, I would have left him alone. =/

Re: rudest trader / breders you ever met?

I had a similar interaction with someone I questioned about a California red sided garter snake Mink. In fact I was most likely incorrect, but all I did was ask. Another time I ordered a c.b.b. checkered garter snake online from a large online reptile store and they sent a wild caught plains garter snake with mites and all. When I confronted them about this the lady that wrote back saying the mites were most likely from my collection, even after she admitted that the animal was wild collected. They refused to give me a full refund until I threatened to go to every reptile related forum and tell people what scum they were. Unfortunately I think there is quite a bit of it in the hobby, you need to very careful and do your research before every purchase. There is even some person on another furom that tries to sell all his animals on a background of a confederate flag. That really blows my mind.

Yup, crazy what lengths people will go to just to show their rump....on the light side, the lady I got my 5 rescues from, while her animals were in sad condition, so was she....but she was SOOOOO nice...and gave me animals worth waaaay more than an MBK. Thinking about it still blows my mind.... Makes me happy that there are kind, caring, considerate people in the hobby.

Also, happy to say, more often are the nice breeders/sellers, which is great. Because if there were more rude aholes than the nice guys....this hobby would be doomed =(
