My retic does not eat.....
Hello guys!
I am worried about my retic, she was very normal about feeding, but since 9 weeks ago, she simply stop eating.. temp & humidity are as usually, no enclosure changes, looks very healthy and normal behavior (except the feeding)... she is a Super Tiger almost getting 3 years old, hits the 13 feet and about 60 pounds.
Could it be possible that she is acting like this, because is heat time for her?(could it be possible for her age?) or only males stop eating for this reason?
I will place some pics, as soon as I can find out how to do it... sorry!!
Thank you for your comments!

Re: My retic does not eat.....
How often do you feed her? She could also feel like she needs to eat a little less, since she's 3 years now. If you feed her weekly, maybe step down to every 2 weeks and see if her appetite starts picking up.
It's also possible it's breeding season, I'm fairly sure females go off food/eat less during the breeding season if her temps are falling. Even if it's just the cool side being slightly off. If that's the case, just offer a little less often so you don't waste as many rats/rabbits if you want, and wait for spring.

Re: My retic does not eat.....
If she's a good eater normally(like 90% of Retics never refused a meal) and she stopped eating, my money is on she's off food for breeding. Under 3 years is young though, any chance you're off on the age at all?

Re: My retic does not eat.....
Sounds like she's going into breeding mode...if she goes off food and gets a bit fussy and spends a lot more time on her cool side she could be going into breeding mode where that's all she's wants to do and she's gonna deny food for a while so don't be alarmed but once the season is over she's gonna be back to normal again. As long as you don't see any major wright loss and you keep a big bowl of water in for her she's perfectly fine

Re: My retic does not eat.....
I'm having the opposite problem right now. One of my females will not stop eating, I just wish she'd go into breeding mode.
