Yes, I believe that's a gopher snake. I couldn't tell you specifically what kind, though. Can you be a bit more clear of where you are? I'm leaning towards either a San Diego gopher or a Pacific gopher.

I agree, definitely appears to be a Gopher Snake. I'm thinking Pacific, but I'm not completely certain.

Kinda hard to see on the phone, but it looks like a Pituophis Catenifer Affinis (Sonoran Gopher Snake). If you're in AZ, this is what it'll be.
