Lucky
I realized I never posted my boa for everyone to meet! Lucky is 12 years old and I've had her the whole time. She is a very laid back girl and easy to handle. A recent pic of her after she climbed up the shower stall while I was cleaning her cage in the other room. Used to be able to hang her off a belt loop or teapot handle...not so much anymore of course
Another from a little while ago now...I was trying to get a pic showing her size for someone. Probably should have gotten one with her wrapped around me from above to see her width too but then I would have been in the pic....

Re: Lucky
The pics aren't working.
But wow, that's a good amount of time to have a reptile! It's not common to see people who keep their reptiles that long, although I'm sure most of them live at least that long.

Re: Lucky
That's weird its the same photobucket account I use for all the forums.
Yeah I expect her to live quite a bit longer still! She's healthy and the worst that has ever happened to her is a bad rub on her nose from one of the times I moved. I've actually had her half my life now which is weird to think of for some reason

Re: Lucky
Beautiful boa! I really love how light her coloration is near/on her head. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Lucky
She's beautiful! I love how clean and pale she is towards the head and gets darker towards the tail. Such a pretty girl.

Re: Lucky
For a well cared for, appropriately fed boa, 25+ is totally realistic and they can even go past 40 in some cases. I have a Hispaniolan Boa (one of the slender bodied boas) that I bought as a baby in 1982. He is still going strong and apparently healthy at at least 33' and probably close to 34 years old. Congratulations on taking good care and maintaining your commitment to the animal.

Re: Lucky
Thanks
It took a very long time to convince my mother to let me have a big snake since she wasn't a snake person. I've converted her over the years and she has her own cornsnake now. Plus, Lucky is so nice there was no reason not to like her!
Yeah I'm expecting at least double the age she is now. When I got her as a baby I knew how long they could live but I don't think I had quite grasped the concept of 20+ years back when I was 12
