Thinking about a Florida king

So I'm thinking about getting a Florida king snake in the next few months. I grew up in Florida and never had one dose anyone have one and if so what style enclosure should I build. I'm thinking one 40 inches by 20 inches should be good but would like to be sure. Any specific stuff I need or things I should watch out for or are they pretty typical to care for thanks.

Re: Thinking about a Florida king

I had a couple florida/brooks kings right before I left for the military and had to sell them. Let me tell you that they are really fun and aren't shy with the feeding response. I've never seen a snake attack and constrict a FT pinky mouse with such gusto. In contrast my Bairds Ratsnakes grab it off the tongs very gently and just eat it.

Try to include a thermostat or rheostat to regulate whatever heating element you choose to go with. Florida kings are a nice choice.
