Exclamation Help

Hey i was wondering what i should do.... I was looking around for a snake rack to keep my snakes in and i found one cheapest for 275$ and it comes with the heat and everything. I was than looking around and found pretty much the same thing at walmart with plastic tubs for like 15$ so obviously i rather do that. The problem is i dont know how i would set up heat for that. Maybe with flexxwatt but do i just connect it to the back of the bins or something? Or will it burn through? Im very confused. Also what is the cheapest thermostat i can get that i can connect 4 different things too?

Thanks hope you guys can help

Re: Help

Usually people attach the flexwatt to the wood, often with a heat reflector or heat resistant tape in between the flexwatt and the wood as a precaution. You'll want a thermostat with multiple probes as there can be a lot of variation between different areas of the rack. If the heat is controlled properly with a good thermostat, the flexwatt should never get hot enough to melt the plastic or burn the wood(because that would be far too hot for the snakes as well)

Re: Help

If you're talking about one of those plastic sets of sterlite drawers, that won't work without modifying it. Snake racks are made so that the tub just fits into the rack with very little gap. But, you can certainly use tubs that have secure lids, if that's what you mean.
