Please help to identify the snake

Hi,

Could you please help to identify the snake based on the attached pictures of the snake scale. I saw the snake and scale in the back yard..could not take the picture of the snake it self. I am worried that it is a venomous..Thanks for your help

I'm going to assume this is somewhere in North America, a location would definitely help narrow it down a bit. The pattern, size, head scales and overall dimensions suggest it is a Garter of some kind. I'm very confident it is harmless.

Looks like some type of garter to me too. Perfectly harmless.
