Living Gems Holdbacks: Litter 2014-A

As the rainbow community closes in on baby season, we wanted to update our readers on some of our past holdbacks. We will profile one or two little ones each week for a total of 17….taking us well into baby season. Note that only the adults who make the end collection as breeders get formal names, so our younger snakes will be referred to by number (this both saves names, as there are only so many good gem ones available, and lets customers choose their own name for any we rehome).

Hailing from our 2014 “A” litter, we have #03 and #10. These babies were born on August 14 to Picasso, a dual-orange male, and Nephrite, an orange female. Baby #03 had an interesting lighter color scheme that clearly stood out as “different” from her siblings. Baby #10 had a high contrast color scheme that stood as “wow” from her siblings.

Here is Baby #03 as of her most recent photo shoot in May:

She weighed 57 grams of her last weigh-in.

(We profile Baby #10 next time.)

As always, thank you for reading.

Gorgeous little sparklenoodle! Are "holdbacks" snakes you are or were considering keeping?

Re: Living Gems Holdbacks: Litter 2014-A

"Holdback" means it is an animal I held back from sale, with the possibility of making it a future breeder. So some get kept, others fail to make the cut and are eventually sold. Thank you for looking!
