atb, etb or gtp?

hi i found a pair of atb's a while back and since i saw them i knew i wanted a arboreal snake, so i started building a enclosure for one. the cage is roughly 41" x 21.5" x 43.5". anyways im trying to figure out what species will use the entire space provided. i once posted a picture of the pair of atbs i saw and they have been in the same 30 gallon tank for years, so i was thinking about purchasing them both and cohabiting them in this cage... i know its frowned upon, but since they have been together for so long i figure it should be ok?

oh, the possibility of a jungle is also there but i thought the floor space wouldn't be large enough for one as the are only semi arboreal

Is 21.5" the width? If so that's not a lot of floor space for 2 ATBs. They are semi arboreal. I have some that perch more than others but they use their floor space a lot.

Hi, here's what I know about the species, atb, usually wild caught, slender, rarely calm down to the point of being handleable, and not as impressive, etb, biggest of the group, I've heard of eight foot females, high mortality rate as neonates, more hardy as adults, and they will also rarely become handleable. Gtp, hands down best choice of the first three. As long as care requirements are met, you can usually hold them to some extent, they are the easiest to find, and most commonly bred in captivity. Personally I would pick a etb, but that's just my opinion, their care is all relatively similar, and if properly cared for make a great display snake, cheers

yes, its width. i wasnt aware that they are semi arboreal. mostly everything i read said they rarely ever come down and when they drink they hang from their perch towards the water

im not concerned about handling, or finding captive bred for either species- there are lots out there from what i have read.

the only question i have right now is choosing one that will use most of the space. it would be a shame to have all that space go to waste.

I only have gtp's, 2 in one enclosure smaller than yours and they hang at 1 place all day. Only at early night they move around for a little while, but hardly ever on the floor

are they male and female or how does that work?

Yup, male and female. Tbh, I normally house my snakes 1 per enclosure, but this was some test to see how they would react to eachother and it went fine, so i left them together. All is going well for quite some time now. I hope they are 'smart' enough to wait with naughty stuff till they are ready for it (or at least the female).

I have to agree. I breed ATB's and some use the floor space and even hides, were as others stay perched and almost never come to the ground.
