Arrow Info needed!

Hello everyone!

My boyfriend really wants to get a blood python. Unfortunately i saw a couple of pics and i dont really seem to agree with him. I dont really know anything about blood pythons ex: temperment, feeding requirements etc. and im the kinda person who once i get to know the animal...they tend to grow on me! lol.

I would like some pics of blood pythons in different stages..ex adult or babies! and of course some info to go along with them and what you like best about them!

Thank you! Snake Lady

well we have a sumatran red, and at this stage he's bitey. when mike was describing him to us he mentioned that the feeding responce was good, he'll eat live, dead or a ham sandwich if you put it in front of him he would bite. Both katey and I have been "christianed" by vlad.

you can start them on rats right away.

Go to the link to see the growth of mine.

http://www.hissnherps.ca/attila_growth.html

I also have other pics and video of him on my website. Mine as a great feeding response and temper. It's the snake that everyone who come here can handle, even child. Red blood are the bigger species (5-7ft), borneo, like mine is in the middle (4-6ft) and black blood is the smalest (3.5-5ft)

Good luck!

BLoods Rock harder... harder then me even!! (if u can belive it )
Yea They are my favorite snake ever!! Mine isn't very nippy (thank god) but it hisses like a mofo when u try to pick her up. You need to keep it in an enclosure with a basking spot of about 90F degrees during the day and at night I leave it at about 80. with the bloods that 've worked with I noticed that they aren't too crazy about being handled. It stresses them out a lot. I handle mine about twice a week for about 15 minutes a turn.
They are semi aquatic so you're going to need a large waterbowl for them to soak in. GrantVG did an excellent caresheet on them.
If you don't know where the caresheets on ssnakess are. Go back to www.ssnakess.com and to the left there is a menu of links. on there is caresheets.. click it and ur off to the caresheets.
I would recommend getting one (if you're experianced with snakes. IMHO they don't make good beginner snakes at all. Because they are less forgiving of your mistakes. BUt Good luck and if you do decide to get one Post some pics!!

Great page Jezabel!

Snake Lady,
IMHO they are greatly underestimated animals. They have a bad reputation due to all the WC's in the past. CB animals can grow into very handleable snakes. Strong, fast-growing snakes with sensitive temperaments and an incredible feeding response. You wouldn't think such a stout animal could take flight!

Here's a few pics of my borneos (not bloods, even though some people call them "Borneo Bloods", but the same sort of deal - the care, etc is the same for both species)...
