Re: wife for size

They only look big when stretched out like that....right?

They are what...10 feet?

Also...how are you not afraid they won't dart away into the wild?

Brilliant pics folks and beautiful retics, could to see someone put themselves in the photo with the snake. I think it's the best way to give a perspective on the size well done

Re: wife for size

Kind of wish I had enough room to keep a pair where I live and maybe start a breeding program with the reticulated Giants. Really good looking animals. Thanks.

The tiger is closer to 15' and the gc is more like 12 or so. And as far as them taking off. I am not worried we have been takimg them out to roam since they were little worms. And the big tiger seams to follow us around the yard. Lol. She is the sweet one. She will chase you and chase you. When you stop she will rest her head on your leg until you pet her. I know they say snakes are not capable of emotions but she seams to appreciate our interactions. We do have a lav. Tiger male but he is a little prick. Only 8 or so feet long but he will tag you quick.

Re: wife for size

Awww.......

As for the 'emotions' argument, I see it as an individual snake's preference, and while not 'love' on the same level as mammals (dogs, apes, monkies, people), I believe that their personality can most definitely make them nice or not. If you look at the science of affection, it's because it makes an individual feel good by releasing endorphins. Perhaps it's something similar in snakes. While not being a tail wagging 'happy' to see you, perhaps its 'this person makes me feel good....I want more of that' type of thing.

I'm no scientist, and I could be wrong...but this makes more sense to me than simply disregarding any 'feelings' because of a 'lack of emotion'.
