Reptile lover without a reptile

Hi, everyone!
I'm new to the reptile side of things (at least I feel new; I think I had a turtle when I was 5), but I'm very used to fishkeeping. I've always wanted a reptilian friend, such as a snake or gecko, but, it has been very hard to convince my mom to allow me to, even if they may be easier to take care of than my other pets. I'm pretty sure the farthest I've gone is an amphibian, only because it was tiny and lived with my fish! But I've done lots of research on crested geckos and some types of snakes, dream pets of mine. Our neighbors are trying to get their son to give up his ball python, which I was allowed to hold while he was walking his dogs (and it was awesome!), and I of course asked my mom, multiple times... But to no avail
Even a corn snake would do! Or an anole. Or another amphibian that's bigger than an African dwarf frog. I think it's the bugs that bothers her for the other reptiles I've questioned her about. But my love for scaley animals still grows!

Re: Reptile lover without a reptile

Welcome! And good luck with your mom and have fun researching in the meantime . For the record, having kept all three, I have found it to be way easier to feed snakes frozen mice than to keep live insects around for lizards and frogs. As a mom, I might be persuaded by this fact. And also impressed by lots of research into the subject

Rooting for you!
