Top HOT for those who cannot
So just wondering for those of us woh cant legally own hots or dont have the knowledge or trainning to keep them. If these werent factors and they could be kept properly and safely in your collection simply for the sake there are some truely beautiful hots out there what would you have?
For myself if I could it would be the rhinoceros viper and or temple viper.
** CLAIRIFICATION: I am NOT advocating breaking any local laws or putting ourselves in a dangerous situations. This simply for the purpose of being able to see some species some of may have never heard of or seen before.

Re: Top HOT for those who cannot
I lobe rattlers honestly. But I have seen this green viper thing where the scales are all spikey and look like little leaves. That thing was AWESOME!

Re: Top HOT for those who cannot
There are a number of them that I would love to keep. If I had to start with only one, it would be a Rhino Viper. I could probably keep hots if I wanted to since the laws don't prevent it where I live. That said, the risk simply outweighs the benefits - at least for me. Just one man's opinion.

That's Yellow-blotched Palm Pit Viper for those who don't understand Latin. Beautiful snake.

King cobras! They are just so incredibly beautiful! I love the colour changes they go through too. I've also seen some cool captive bred morphs of other cobra species. I wouldn't actually keep them even if I had the legal freedom, knowledge, and experience to do so though. However I would love an opportunity to see someone else's collection!

Nope.
I wouldn't because it's still a risk to myself and those around me. Not worth the smallest chance of losing any of that.

Re: Top HOT for those who cannot
Ehhh, I am not fond of the risks either. I would not want to keep a snake because it's venomous but inspite of it. Many of the world's most beautiful snakes are venomous. In my case, if I ever do keep any I am going to have a very few number and always use tools to handle them. The small is number is so that anytime something dangerous needs done I can afford to pay a vet to do the dirty work lol

Re: Top HOT for those who cannot
I'm of the mind I don't want a pet that can kill me. I'll go to a zoo if I want to see them or I'll watch a documentary.

Re: Top HOT for those who cannot
These last 3 posters are missing the point of this thread completly! I realize that thes are dangerous animals as clearly stated in opening post. The point of the thread is because there are many beautiful deadly species IF they WEREN'T DANGEROUS AT ALL what would you want SOLELY BASED ON APPEARENCE. Didn't think I deeded to make the original post clearer but I guess I was wrong.

Re: Top HOT for those who cannot
Lol I knew what you meant. I personally find most rattlers beautiful. I love their body shapes, head shapes, that rustic natural color, as well as some of the morphs they have now. I also love that sound they make! As for the bush viper, same reasons really. If they weren't venomous at all, bet your buttons I'd have a few! That's why I like hognoses though is because they remind me of rattlers.
Dream lizard...Gila monster and an American alligator.
Dream GIANT snake....the purple fire albino retic, and a rather normal burm. Not a fan of condas though.
All are dangerous, all make me happy, will probably never own any. Lol.

Mexican Beaded Lizard for sure. Not anywhere near as dangerous as most of what you guys have listed. But you say no to this smile.
