New menu item tonight
So far my 2 corns have been eating pinkies. The bigger one, Ruby is to the point where even 2 of the biggest semi-fuzzy pinkies barely make a meal. Today she's going to get her first 'real' fuzzy meal. What I'm wondering is if I should expect some reluctance on her part to switch from baldies to furries? Or is it pretty normal to switch to furry food without hesitation? I realize every snake is an individual, and there's no guarantee how she'll react, but generally, do they move up with little or no fuss?
(What's really got me is that these fuzzies look like real critters. Pinkies were shapeless blobs, not much sign of being somebody, but these guys are so darned cute, or would be if they were alive. It's going to take some getting used to for me. I'm chicken. Hate to admit it, but I am.)

My three corns went from pinkies to fuzzies without a hitch, as a matter of fact, I think they prefer the fuzzies. They sure don't hesitate to snatch them up!
I've never heard of a snake having problems going from pinkies to fuzzies, or the fur being any kind of problem or turn off for the snake. The food items probably smell more due to the fur.

There shouldn't be any problems at all for them to switch from pinkies to fuzzies....but there are some cases where they just don't want to take anything like fuzzies and bigger stuff....
I have a tri-color honduran milk who only likes fuzzies.....but she's a fully grown adult......which is really a pain in the butt.....and what's even worse is that she wouldn't take in any f/t....that means only live fuzzies....which is a bonus to the pain in the butt.....lol...
but this is not too common.......but there are always chances....hahaha
Good luck and let us know once your baby starts eating fuzzies with no problems at all!!!

Yup, like they said, it "should" be no problem.
The only reason I replied is because I agree, fuzzies are really cute! Especially when the start walking away from the nest to explore and they make little squeaking noises...
Oh well, I like snakes more...

When mine were big enough to move from pinkies to fuzzies. I started feeding them pinkie rats, (same size as fuzzy mice). They made the switch no problem. And people say rats are better for then then mice.
They have sure started to grow great on rats.

Your corn may be a little confused about the new prey but it should take it down no problem, it just may take a little longer.
We have our's alternating on pinky rats and fuzzy mice. We're doing this so they can get some bone content.

I've got a temporary reprieve for my nerves at least. She started into a shed on feeding day, so I'm waiting for her to get over that. She should be good and hungry enough by then to eat anything. And I get a few extra days to get used to the cute little fuzzy food thing.
Thanks for the help, everyone

They're not half as cute as when they're live.
