Im a novice snake owner and i just ran out of substrate. But i have an unopen bag of miracle grow potting soil? I was wondering if I could safely use that to put in my snake cage?

Yes paper would be a better idea. I use painters paper. You can get a huge roll from a hardware store like Home depot for around 10 bucks and lasts months.
